Tourist of the Times

I’d like to take a trip somewhere no one’s ever been before

Though I don’t know when or where, just far away from here for sure.

A warm sandy beach, and ocean views are way too typical

I prefer a one way trip to Saturn, cold and mystical.

I’d like to take a trip somewhere, when past is present day

Where the Kings still rule and knights in armor enter in the fray.

I would travel to the Renaissance, to meet the Borgia pope

Or Henry VIII’s England, to keep my head I surely hope.

I’d like to take a trip somewhere, to feel what others feel.

Somewhere desolate and ruined, every strip a battlefield.

I would walk through Gaza barefoot, like the children I have seen.

To Iraq or Syria, and yes, I know what this would mean.

I’d like to take a trip somewhere, a tourist of the times

Hopefully while I’m still young and in the middle of my prime.

More than a vacation, a daydream that came to life

Until then, I’ll just keep visiting these places in my mind.

      1. Yes same here, I went with fantasy because I didn’t know how else I would pull off being different than just your typical tourist story. But I like the route you took, very nice! 🙂
