Black Love Matters pt.1

Black Love

I’m from the last generation, of any hope for Black Love. Make no mistake though, it’s not dead yet, & it still matters.

I’m from the generation of those 90’s R&B jams, the SWVs, the TLCs, R. Kelly & Aaliyah. I grew up on Mary searching for a real love. So I figured when I grew up, I’d be searching too, but I knew what to look for. That first kiss in 1st grade, being chased down on the playground, nah, that wasn’t a real love. That first real girlfriend in 7th grade, the one I hunched at the movies? Nah, she wasn’t it either. I’ll know when I find my 90s r&b love. The search is still relevant. Hope still shines through.
